Doncha just love the careful measurement technique ("Pull baby's legs, but not too hard.") The sad thing is that the chiropractor probably doesn't even know he's deluding himself.
I find it interesting/semi-annoying how the 'skepticism' and 'logic' you attempt to incorporate into your blog often reads remarkably like the material you purport to challenge.
Your writing often comes across as smug, judgmental and often contains un or poorly supported opinion (i.e. above) - often negating many of your 'arguments' and doing little to boost any confidence in your role as a 'skeptical academic'.
Don't get me wrong - I agree with most, if not all, of your viewpoints. But I'd much rather read someone say out loud "creationists are fucking retards", rather than as the not-so-subtext in a smug and faux-academic argument.
Thanks for your comment, Leslie. I guess I need to ask myself the question, What is the point of my blog? I think it's consciousness raising (at least in part). Far too many people are blissfully unaware of how easy it is to believe something that isn't true. Especially when other people believe strongly in whatever-it-is. I see my blog as a way to encourage people to think critically. Lots of smart people never think to question stuff like chiropractic... until they see someone else question it.
Let's face it, no one can jam all the facts into a single place. If they could, no one would read it. I'm simply pointing out what - in my opinion - is bunk.
